You Don’t Have to Do This Alone
Individual Therapy
Emotional pain is a shared human experience, yet so many feel like they have to deal with it alone. Support is available to help you bear what feels unbearable, find hope, and live a more fulfilling life. While therapy can be a long-term support for some, it can also be a short-term support during a difficult period.
I am a native Spanish speaker, have experience working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, and am LGBTQ+ affirming. I am dedicated to understanding your experiences and supporting you with your goals.
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is a specialized approach that eases emotional distress linked to traumatic memories.
Unlike other therapies, it doesn't require talking extensively about the trauma or doing homework between sessions. Instead, it's designed to work with your brain's natural healing abilities. EMDR follows a structured approach to soothe distressing emotions, thoughts, and physical sensations tied to traumatic memories. After successful treatment, disturbing memories are experienced as having happened in the past and no longer experienced as disturbing in the present. While EMDR can't erase past traumas or memories, it can improve your response to them, making it possible to live more freely and fully.
EMDR can be helpful for a variety of challenging experiences, including early life trauma, accidents and assaults, miscarriage, birth trauma, grief and loss, and generalized low self-esteem. For more information about EMDR click HERE.
Parent-Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT)
Your child’s unpredictable and intense behaviors have resulted in significant problems at home and/or school. You feel nervous about doing “ordinary” things like running errands, attending playdates, and eating out as a family. You love your child, but it has become difficult to enjoy their company, and you are ready to change this.
PCIT is a well-researched and effective short-term treatment for young children with disruptive, defiant, and aggressive behaviors. Caregivers are taught advanced skills to help them strengthen their relationship with their child and improve behaviors. Parents are coached during live interactive sessions with their child.
Proper training and certification are fundamental to delivering effective PCIT. I am a certified PCIT therapist. For a full list of certified PCIT providers and more information on this treatment, please visit: www.pcit.org
Family Therapy
Family Therapy offers a safe and supportive space for families to navigate challenges and strengthen their relationships. Close relationships have a significant impact on mental health. While families can many times offer unique understanding and support, they can also be a source of stress and suffering. Chronic misunderstandings, moves, illness, loss, and life transitions (i.e., marriage, new baby, job changes, divorce) increase stress and can negatively impact relationship quality.
A family approach to treatment can help you:
Improve relationship quality
Establish and maintain important boundaries
Navigate a separation or divorce
Increase support for grief and loss
Support a loved one that is struggling
Teletherapy
I offer virtual therapy for residents of New Jersey, New York, and PSYPACT participating states.
All virtual sessions are conducted through a secure online platform to safeguard your privacy. You can access these live video sessions through your computer, tablet, or smartphone. We will work together to decide whether virtual or in-person treatment is the right fit for you.
